SPECIAL GUEST IN LOS ANGELES – SERGEI POLUNIN
The event of truly historical proportions will mark the month of November in California. For the first time, the world’s leading classical ballet dancer Sergei Polunin will meet the most distinguished modern-day guitarist Estas Tonne on the same stage.
It’ll be beautiful, it’ll be strong, it’ll be for the first time ever!
– a musician with strong and bright expressive power who breaks the rules of contemporary show-business, a musician whose music is not a goal, but a tool that can liberate human capacity for cognition of ourselves, as well as the surrounding reality.
By traveling to countless countries and places, Estas Tonne finds himself in several cultural references without identifying himself with a single nation or country, rather with the cultural richness of the world. His music is, therefore, a reflection of many approaches.
A fusion of classical structure, the technique of Flamenco, roots of Gypsy, characteristics of Latin and Electronic Soundscape – all this variety of styles flowing into each other almost unnoticed and showing up as surprises in a harmonious structure of sound – is reaching out differently in each performance, yet always in unique form and melody.
– is a world-famous freelance principal ballet dancer, who has also succeeded as both an actor and model.
Since his rise through the ranks of ballet, becoming a Principal Dancer at the young age of 19, now he performs around the world with leading ballet companies such as London Opera House, Mariinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), Bolshoy and Stanislavsky Theatre (Moscow), State Ballet Theatre of Novosibirsk, Munich State Opera Theatre (Germany).
Besides his amazingly bright career in the world of ballet, Sergei has expanded into the realm of acting, film and other creative endeavors. Having made his on-screen debut in Kenneth Branagh’s “Murder on the Orient Express” with a cast that included Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, currently, he is playing both main and supporting roles in a series of big cinema-projects.
Sergei’s story became the subject of the documentary feature film “Dancer” focused on his individual beginnings and rise in the world of ballet. The documentary is book-ended with Sergei’s “Take Me to Church” video, which gained a record number of views (over 23 million).
It was an incredibly strong mutual desire of both Estas Tonne and Sergei Polunin to meet each other one day at the same stage that, finally, made the birth of their phenomenal duet possible.
